The element I am doing is Tungsten

Tungsten symbol is W which stands for wolfram because that was its orginal name. It's period number is 74. Its atomic wieght is 183.86. Its atomic volume is 9.53. It is classified as a Transition metal which is located in groups 3- 12 in the periodic table. An element that is classified as a transition metal means it has to be able to conduct electricty and heat. Tungsten was discovered by Fausto and Juan Jose de Elhuyar in Spain in 1783. Tungsten colour is white to silver. Pure Tungsten can be cut with a hacksaw and is easy to work with, while improper Tungsten is very brittle and hard to work with. Tungsten has the highest melting point of 3422°C and has the lowest vapour pressure of all metals. It oxides in the air and resists oxegen, acids and alkalis.

Tungsten must be protected at elevated levels. China is reported to have 75% of the worlds Tungsten. It means heavy metal in swedish. Tungsten is a solid at room tempurature.
